March 15 is World Consumer Rights Day. The theme this year is Trusted Smart Products. You can read more about the day here.
It's important to me to raise children that are socially conscious. Because of this, Jude, his cousins, and I took the time today to write to our local representatives to ask them to put more effort into creating laws on smart technology privacy and transparency when it comes to where our information is going.
These concepts are over the head of an almost 10 month old, but the process of doing this, if repeated, will begin the early stages of being aware of what is going on in the United States and the world. I want Jude to know that his voice matters. The future of technology and privacy will affect him massively, so I want him to speak up for himself and his peers.
The best way that Jude and his cousins can speak up right now is through adults that can help, so Jude and Athena decorated some cards and I wrote the messages on them and mailed them. Lincoln was able to write his own letter. I explained to them all that their voice is important and that should never forget that. We will keep doing social justice activities like this to reenforce the importance of voice!
