Because it is a day to support a cause, Jude and I had a conversation about how not everyone has shoes. We talked about how lucky we are to not only have shoes but have a lot of shoes. Jude seemed like he had no idea what I was talking about, but he is getting better and better at listening.
To celebrate, we did a sensory path outside. I have been working on one for the kid's garden area, but it wasn't quite finished, so we made a quick one to walk through.
Our path had..
1. fresh leaves
2. dry leaves
3. a small, bumpy bridge
4. potting soil
5. grass seeds
6. a little bucket to wash it all off
Jude is only walking with assistance. Jay helped him walk through, and Jude smiled as he stepped on each material. We told him the material and then moved on to the next one. He enjoyed stepping through it and then splashed in the bucket when he was finished walking!
