365: Vanilla Milkshake Day

June 20 is Vanilla Milkshake Day. It is a day dedicated to the simplest of milkshakes.

To celebrate the day, Jude and I shared a few sips of a vanilla milkshake and then I let Jude make a milkshake "Jude style" with the remainder. To make it Jude style, I made a small buffet of toppings and I let him make a mess. He was contained to his highchair to contain the mess, and it was mostly successful.

Letting Jude make his own milkshake offered us the opportunity to talk about a lot of different colors, textures, and tastes. It was truly an all senses activity. He also got to use his fine motor skills to move the ingredients from the bowl to his shake.
