365: Creamsicle Day

August 14 is Creamsicle Day. Creamsicles are delicious orange popsicles with cream in the center.

It was Uncle Mitchy's first day of high school, so we went out to celebrate after-school with him and Nana. We were unable to obtain a creamsicle at UDF, so we did our best and Jude shared an orange cream sherbet shake with me. Jude is getting so strong and independent. He was able for the most part to lift the cup, tip the cup, and drink the shake from the straw. He also was using a spoon to scoop out ice cream.

We try to focus on practical life skills practice as often as possible. By allowing Jude the independence to work on these skills (even if it does mean a little extra mess), Jude is growing stronger and more dexterous by the day!
